Justice For Marjorie Kwan!
February 18 started out as a slow today for many of us around the world but this day shall never be the same for the family of Marjorie Kwan.
Information came from social networking sites as a storm of comments regarding the said incident gave out clues as to how she has died. Based from what we have gathered, it seems that the young nurse was headed home after her hospital duty and was then shot (in broad daylight) multiple times near her home in Banggoy, Davao City (Unsure but based from Facebook comments).
News over Twitter (#JusticeForMarjKwan) reveals the same information. TV Patrol Mindanao has tweeted the incident with a blurry photo.
This incident angers me quite a lot and do hope and pray for justice to be given. This incident breaks the security of Davao City and must be addressed as soon as possible because the public’s safety is at stake.
I humbly ask for everyone to please pray for Marjorie Kwan to rest in peace and justice be served.
Update: The suspects of the incident were aboard a motorcycle whom attempted to steal her bag. Witnesses said that the victim refused to hand over her bag which prompted the suspects to shoot her. She was shot four times, sustaining gun shot wounds on the hand, chest, back and head.

REST IN PEACE MS. KWAN.. JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL.. WALK IN GOD’S HANDS..
Condolence to the family and friends of Ms. Kwan. May she rest in peace.
It only shows us that Davao City a ” livable ” City isn’t anymore safe! Its so alarming already that crimes like this are increasing. I was saddened by the news , she’s still young
rest in peace batch mate .. Justice for you.
Deeply disappointed about this BIG security issue. Davao has been known to be one of the safest but clearly this has changed.
I am not convinced that Davao is the safest place to live, youngster gangs in Boulevard are still happening etc. I always told my children to be careful when walking in the streets of San Pedro, Claveria and Magsaysay especially when riding jeepneys. Pickpocketers are still around and I heard this also happens in malls and groceries. They said that Davao is safe but we still have to make ourselves secure because we cannot always depend our security to police or any security personnel from government. Always secured yourself FIRST…. justice for marj kwan
Hindi naman talaga safest ang Davao eh its only waaay better than other cities in the country in terms of security. The Davao City government is clearly doing its best to maintain it. Let’s do our part and not resort to blaming the davao government for the loss of Ms. Kwan.
Opinion nya yun.
You know Dune its so easy to say all these things kasi it didnt happen to you people have the right to express their anger and frustrations no need to tell them to go live somewhere else!masyado ka naman insensitive I knew the father of this girl he just died sometime last year and now this.Bakit ganyan lang ba kadali magtransfer????? ha? instead of sympathizing with the family sabihin mo pa: kung ganyan lang ang akala niyo eh di umalis na kayo sa davao. How insensitive and rude can some people be!
Rest in peace batchmate. I am so saddened of your brutal passing. May you rest in peace with God. We pray for justice to be served.
Rest in Peace Madz.
RIP schoolmate!!
Rest In peace my dear colleague, We hope justice will prevail… =(
Rest in Peace Joy… I will always treasure our wonderful memories together. I love you. I’ll miss you…
To be honest, di kaya ni Duterte. The only way for him to stop these crimes is if bans motorcycles altogether. Possible? I doubt.
Surprise check points and closer inspections might help lessen these crimes.
She’s no God of course. It’s very easy to blame her in times like these. When good things come to Davao, we rarely appreciate the efforts of the Davao City government. And when bad things come, we easily identify her as the one lacking responsibility. And anyway, its very easy to blame others than taking part of the responsibility… ITS VERY EASY to BLAME, RANT, ADVICE as if we know everything, right? As if, if we are the one in charge, we could do it perfectly as well.. as in GODLIKE. I hate these kind of people.
Chill. We all have vulnerabilities and so does the government. It is events like these that remind us of how vulnerable we can be. Davao City has been quite comfortable to live in over the years and these types of events is not something that you hear on the news everyday, especially knowing that the crime happened in broad daylight.
Then again, calm down.
Its so easy to tell people to just transfer if you don’t like whats happening as if its that easy!grow up girl youre living in an upside down world of your own.
That’s what you call margin of error. Dabawenyos felt secured and it happened on daylight, you would not expect it will happen. Criminals sees that as an opening and exploited it.
uhm… Davao City is still The best and livable city in this country…
It’s far better than the others…
Kung ayaw niyo na tumira sa Davao, eh di umalis kayo!!!
Eneweiz, condolence to the family of Marjorie Kwan…
It was so sad to hear this news… very alarming…
I am so saddened by this incident. I fear for my children’s security, especially my daughter who’s also working.I believe this is the best time for the Human Rights Commission to show their prowess to protect the ordinary dabawenyos, if not, i suggest palalabasin na ang DDS if meron talaga. This i think is the best way to scare away if not stop these ruthless criminals who seem to be hiding under the cloak of the HRC’s alleged utmost respect for the rights of these criminals. These criminals never showed respect others’ rights, so why do we have to respect their’s. They must not be allowed to enjoy the protection of our laws as they will only invoke the same if they will be caught. Dapat mag operate na ulit ang DDS.Let us also be always careful and vigilant with the people around us if we are in public places like the streets or in malls, by these, we will be able to immediately ask for assistance from others in case of emergency.Just expressing my opinion…
what??? dds??? ayos… isipin mo cnasabi mo! you can’t solve a crime with criminals…anong malay mo kung dds din ang tumira kay marj??? kase wala na cla racket, kaya nagiging magnanakaw nlng cla… same procedure, same style with the dds… use your head!!!!!!
Let’s just make it clear. About the DDS thingy, Davao was once most feared cities before. We all benefits on their credits. Its called sacrifices. There is no perfect world.
rest in peace marj kwan…
It’s like saying fight evil with evil.
Police visibility and random check points for motorcycle riding persons i have nothing againt’s them i own a motorcycle myself but with the helmet on you cant identify them and its so fast to get away on this bikes.
I pray for ms. kwan may she rest in peace and justice may be serve for her. I pray for ms. kwan’s family that they may be able to see the light in this dark time. and lastly I pray for the person who committed the crime that may his heart be cleansed by God’s grace, that may his conscience navigates him to the right path.
hoping that davao city will clear up all evils… make it a livable place.. especially for tyhe students walking on the street in the middle of the night.,….deepest symphaty ms. kwan
wag nalang kau mag talo guyz..mabuti pa gawin ninyu ipagdasal nAlang natin ang namayapang c miss Marjorie Kwan… nobody can blame it nangyari na yun…walang lugar na safe kahit bukid man o etc. isa lang ang safe na lugar yun ay ang HEAVEN..all we have to do is to pray…pray…pray…Keep safe:-)
so sad this incident happened..I use to walk down the streets of davao feeling safe. I hope the authorities would do their best to make davao feel safe again.. And guys huwag kayong magalit if may nagcocomment na they feel unsafe na..syempre nasanay tayo na di ganito kalantaran mga krimen dito, and now like this??? Mind you, Opinyon nila yun. Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion. And thru that, nag-iimprove ang isang lugar atbp, kasi nakikita ang mga kakulangan.E kung di kayo makatanggap na nag-eexpress ng opinion or comment ang tao (na takot sila, they think davao is not safe) then might as well live in a place where people does not speak their minds, And people does not have an opinion, believe me, its much worse to live in a place like these.
And bakit kayo nagpapalayas ng tao dito sa davao? kayo ba may-ari ng davao? Gosh? can’t you take a well-said, and well-written comment? Don’t defend something na obviously there is something wrong in Davao na. Galit kaagad pag may comment, e ganun talaga..we live in a place where expressing frustration, etc is allowed. And there is something to be frustrated about in davao now..that is obvious!
I hope the authorities will do their best to capture these criminals and prevent incidents like these to happen again.. Rest in Peace Marj!!
Tumataas nga crime rate sa davao city. I’m Mayor and Vice Mayor Duterte will do something about these bad guys.
STOP KILLING! I hope that our government officials will respond to this issue.. para sa mga holdaper, nagiging matapang lang kayo pag may baril… mga talawan!
tama ka olrac….magsinagpaay nlang unta….wag tayong magtalo ipagdasal nlang natin ang isat isa…okay
