My First Nikon Wedding Video
One of my dreams was to take photos and record video for weddings. Its been several years already since my last wedding shoot. Just when things started to get desperate, a friend of mine informed me that her brother will be getting married soon and they will need to a videographer. Voila! An instant opportunity for me! Its also a good opportunity to test out the new Nikon D7000.
The new Nikon D7000 delivered what it was promised to do. Great in low light conditions and the video is just awesome! Check out the video after the jump.
On the day of the wedding, I admit that I was really nervous on what I was to do. It was my first attempt to make a wedding video. I know there are a ton of wedding videographers out there and I know most of them have several team members with them with cameras. I am happy that my girlfriend was there to assist me.

What inspires me to shoot wedding videos is not just the emotions that come floating around those wonderful moments but also the art that you can squeeze out of you to make these. Recording these beautiful moments of a couple’s life just keeps the inspiration going. Recording videos amazes me as life’s precious moments continue to unfold.
The family was kind enough to lend us an extra video camera , a Sony HDR-XR150. Its a neat hard disc camcorder from Sony. It was pretty good that we had the extra camera for back up clips. And full length coverage of the wedding. (Sorry, I only used the D7000′s clips for this video!)
The family also hired photographers whom were also very friendly and helpful in many ways. Glad to have worked with them.
Without those expensive camera stablizers, I just used a tripod to hopefully stabilize the D7000 while decreasing the shakes as much as possible. I had a tough time recording video while holding the body itself. I just had to mount it on the tripod and make the tripod as a moving stablizer.
Well, enough talk. Here’s the video.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
